I was listening to the new Cub Scouts single ‘Evie’ on the bus this morning, seemingly minding my own business, when I felt a little tap on my shoulder. I turned around and a somewhat disturbed older man said to me, “Excuse me. I imagine the song you are listening to is absolutely grand, however your slurring hums are doing it no justice, so either hand me the earphones or please keep quiet.” So naturally, I gave him the ear phones! Admittedly, he did not enjoy the song as much as I did, but he understood my need to make noise.

The song starts with a burst of energy and it doesn’t let up for the entirety of the track. Lead singer Tim Nelson once again takes us on a trip through wonderland; His beautiful vocals telling a story of their own. That boy has the voice of a god damn cherub, and he looks like one too! 

Now, I normally hate using the word ‘catchy’, but synonyms.com is just not doing it for me today. ‘Evie’ really is a catchy song that will make you want to dance, even in the most dire of moods. It has this feel to it that leaves me excited for it be realised live!

Cub Scouts bassist, Zoe Davis, says, “Evie is a very special pup. She means a lot to the band!” A very special pup and a very special song too.
